Title:
PRODUCTION OF FINE METALLIC PARTICLES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5834105
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce fine particles of virtually all metals including their alloys in large volume easily in a short time by installing a wire produced by drawing metals in liquid, passing large current to the wire to melt the wire, and allowing the metal to evaporate and scatter in the liquid.

CONSTITUTION: A metallic wire 1 produced by drawing is installed in a vessel 2 filled with liquid 7, for example, water. The wire 1 is connected to a capacitor 3, and the capacitor 3 is charged, then the circuit is closed instantaneously to conduct large current to the wire 1. The wire 1 melts, evaporates and scatters instantaneously in the liquid 7 by the effect of the Joule heat generated by the electric resistance of the wire 1, whereby metallic fine particles are produced. All metals and metallic alloys that can be drawn to wire are included as the material for the wire 1.
