PURPOSE: To decide easily whether a sentence is correct or erroneous, including a type of a variable, by registering a name in a program sentence and its use frequency, executing a retrieval whenever a new sentence is inputted, and updating the use frequency when the name is used.
CONSTITUTION: When a sentence is inputted from a keyboard 12, a processing part 2 analyzes the sentence in accordance with a grammar, and when an error is detected, an error message is displayed on a display 11. When a construction of a sentence is correct, whether the name which is used is registered in a table 4 or not is checked, and if it does not exist, "1" is registered in the name, its type and a counter part. When the name is used, the type is compared, and in case of coincidence, "1" is added to the counter part, and if the type does not coincide, it is displayed as an error on the display 11. In the processing part 2, a check of the sentence structure and a check of the name and the type including a variable which is used are executed, and also the contents of the table are updated. In case when a series of checks are correct, the inputted sentence is converted to an internal code, and its result is stored in an internal code buffer 3.
