PURPOSE: To exactly measure the quantity of a liquid, by providing a comparing electrode for correcting a variation of a dielectric constant of a measuring liquid, an IC oscillator for converting an electrostatic capacity information to frequency, and a reference electrode for correcting its operation change, as well as a liquid depth measuring electrode, respectively.
CONSTITUTION: A detector DT operated as an electrostatic capacity measuring rod is inserted into a tank RS, and is provided with a comparing electrode CP, a liquid depth measuring electrode MP and an LC oscillator LF. The comparing electrode CP is always soaked in a measuring liquid F, measures a variation of a dielectric constant of the liquid F, and corrects it. Also, the oscillator LF for converting an obtained electrostatic capacity information to frequency is provided with a reference electrode (reference capacitor), and corrects its operation change. The quantity of a liquid in the tank RS, which has been operated in accordance with the electrostatic capacity information from the detector DT formed in this way is displayed on an indicator 1. In this way, the quantity of a liquid can be measured exactly.
