Abstract:

PURPOSE: To stably obtain a high contrast photographic image by processing a photosensitive material contg. a tetrazolium compd. with a developing soln. contg. a specified compd.

CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive material contg. a tetrazolium compd. is processed with a developing soln. contg. a compd. represented by general formula I , and a compd. represented by general formula II or III. In formulae I , II, and III, Y is N or methine; Z is N or C; W is S, O, or imino; V is H; (n) is 0 or 1; R12 is H, halogen, or nitro; Y is -COOM', -SO3M, -OH, or -CONH2; M' is H or 1W3C alkyl; (n) is 1 or 2; W' is as W, M1 is H, alkali metal, or ammonium; R13 is H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, -OH, -COOH, halogen, or -SO3H; M2 is as M1; X is -COOM" etc.; M" is H, alkali metal, -NH'4, R14 is H or lower alkyl; and (n) is 1 or 2.
