Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make the flow of a molten steel effective and to economize the electric power required for electromagnetic stirring by punching a diagonal hole to a tundish nozzle and allowing the molten steel flow to be ejected therefrom to coincide with the flowing direction of the molten steel flow by an electromagnetic stirrer.
CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic coil 18 is actuated so as to rotate the molten steel 17 in a mold 16 in a certain specified direction. The molten steel 17 is poured through a diagonal ejection port 15 from a tundish nozzle 14 so as to allow the molten steel flow to coincide with the flowing direction of the steel 17. The port 15 accelerates consequently the flow of the molten steel 17 in the mold 16.
