NEW MATERIAL:The BN-103C substance of formula having the following characteristics: appearance, white powder; melting point, 130.5W132.6°C; specific rotation,[α]D23= -81.6°C (0.5% concentration, ethanol); elemental analysis, C 59.34%, H 6.75%, N 7.04%; molecular weight, 406 (by mass spectrometry); molecular formula, C20H26N2O7.
USE: Useful as a drug such as antiphlogistic agent, antiulcer agent, etc. and as an intermediate of drugs.
PROCESS: A mixture of BN-130 relating substances is adjusted to pH 8W10 with sodium hydroxide, etc. left at room temperature W37°C for 2W3 days, neutralized, and purified with an adsorbent resin such as Diaion HP-20. The substance of formula can be prepared either by dissolving the resultant BN-103B substance in, e.g. alchol, acidifying the solution, and distilling out the solvent, or by adding trifluoroacetic acid to the BN-103B substance, leaving the mixture at 5°C, and removing the trifluoroacetic acid under reduced pressure.
