PURPOSE: To obtain an information recording medium of which surface is protected from the dust, flaws, etc., by adhering chemically a transparent plate of glass or plastic to a light reaction layer which is set at the most outer side of a recording layer.
CONSTITUTION: A light absorbing layer 2 and a light reflecting layer 3 are formed on a substrate 1. A transparent plate 4 is adhered chemically to the layer 3 by means of a transparent adhesive, etc. to over the surface of the layer 3. An optional adhesive is available as long as it is transparent and in consideration of the fitness with the layer 3, and a cyanoacrylate group adhesive is most preferable in terms of the adhesiveness. According to circumstances, the substrate 1 is removed after adhered by transcription the layer 3 to the plate 4 in order to reduce the overall weight of a recording medium. In this case, the information can be recorded and reproduced by irradiating the laser beam from the side of the plate 4.
