PURPOSE: To provide a portable ion gun capable of simply activating a solid surface under various conditions, constituted from such a structure that a power source is mounted therein and a plasma ion generating apparatus is provided to the leading end part thereof.
CONSTITUTION: For example, a plasma generating apparatus constituted from an electrode slit 1, a dielectric plate 3 and an opposed electrode 4 is provided to the leading end provided with a protective cover 2 of a hand gun having a handle 7. AC voltage is applied between the slit 1 and the electrode 4 by a power source 6 and proximal control 8 to generate plasma at the surface of the electrode 1. In addition, voltage from a DC or an AC power source 5 is applied between the slit 1 and the earthed object to be treated by proximal control 9 and the surface of an object 10 is irradiated with either one of positive or negative unipolar ion determined by potential from the slit 1 to be subjected plasma treatment.
