PURPOSE: To obtain a hair cosmetic capable of moderately controlling the metabolic reaction in the scalp tissue and effectively suppressing the dandruff, by using vitamin E acetate which is available at a low cost and safe to the skin, and pantothenyl ethyl ether as active components.
CONSTITUTION: The objective hair cosmetic contains (A) ≥0.1wt% vitamin E acetate and (B) ≥0.01wt% pantothenyl ethyl ether. The compound (A) is a dandruff-preventing agent safe to the skin in contrast with antibacterial agents. The combination of the compound (A) with the compound (B) which has no dandruff-preventing effect further improves the dandruff-preventing effect of the compound (A), and consequently, the amount of the compound (A) can be reduced. The hair cosmetic may contain, in addition to the above two components, an oily component, a surface active agent, a moisture retainer, an alcohol, a thickener, a preservative, an ultraviolet absorber, etc.
