PURPOSE: To prevent generation of wrinkles due to gnawing failure of a supporting body, and to execute efficiently a fixating operation, by starting a rotation of a fixation roll a little later than the time when the tip of the supporting body reaches the inlet of a nip part.
CONSTITUTION: A supporting body 23 whose transfer is executed in an operation area of a transfer electrostatic corona charger 22 is stripped off from a photosensitive drum 21 by an operation of a peeling destaticizer 24, is led by a guide plate 25 and goes toward a nip part 11 formed by a heating roll 1 and a pressure roll 2. Before the supporting body 23 reaches the nip part 11, arrival of the supporting body is detected by a supporting body detector 26 and a detecting circuit 27, a control signal is outputted from a control signal circuit 28, and a driving signal is outputted so that the fixation rolls 1, 2 start a rotation when a little time elapses after the tip of the supporting body 23 reaches an inlet 11' of the nip part 11.
