PURPOSE: To make it possible to miniaturize an installation, by a method wherein a peeling promoting substance is penetrated into a composite layered substance to be peeled and the treated composite layered substance to be peeled is immersed in a heating medium or a cooling medium.
CONSTITUTION: A metal body 1 is immersed in a heating medium or a cooling medium accommodated in a container 2 and kept therein until the temp. of said metal body 1 reaches the temp. of the heating medium or the cooling medium. Subsequently, the metal body 1 is withdrawn from the container 2 and immersed in a peeling promoting substance (e.g. water) filled by a container 3. The metal body 1 is again immersed in the heating medium or the cooling medium and, when the temp. of the metal body 1 reaches the temp. of the heating medium or the cooling medium, the two layered metal body 1 is taken up therefrom to separate the same into each metal bodies.
