PURPOSE: To prepare the next package to be conveyed always in a position for easy delivery by a lifter and promptly convey the package, by dividing a conveyer carrying the package into two sections consisting of the main conveyer and the subconveyer and controlling these two conveyers to be separately driven.

CONSTITUTION: Fully loaded doffed packages P are discharged on a main conveyer 25 and successively transferred toward a subconveyer 26. The initial starting of the main conveyer 25 and the subconveyer 26 is performed simultaneously with discharge of the package P by opening and closing a stopper, and at first, the leading package P is transferred to the subconveyer 26 and fed to the right. No.1 sensor S1 is not operated even if it detects the passage of the leading package P and No.2 sensor S2 detects the start of transfer of the package P toward the subconveyer 26, causing the main conveyer 25 to immediately stop its operation. The leading package P further advances on the subconveyer 26 and is detected by No.3 sensor S3, causing the subconveyer 26 to stop its operation, while the main conveyer 25 to restart its operation.
