PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of breakdown of the titled device due to repetition of freeze and melt of a moisture content contained in exhaust gas and to provide a chimney which is easy to install, by a method wherein a circular hole for exhaust gas is formed in the center of a concrete square pillar.

CONSTITUTION: A chimney 1' is formed such that a circular hole 3 for exhaust gas is formed in the center of a reinforced concrete square pillar body 2, and a heat insulating material 4 is disposed around the circular hole 3. Manufacture of the chimney is such that a core pipe for forming the circular hole 3 is installed in an oblong boxform frame formed in a similar manner stated in the square pillar body 2, and after concrete is placed in the frame and is cured, the core pipe is pulled out and the frames are removed. Installation of the heat insulating material 4 results in prevention of condensation of a moisture content due to reduction in temperature, and the use of reinforced concrete increases resistance to breakdown and facilitates of installation work.
