PURPOSE: To obtain a compact and light-weight electronic equipment with which both the power consumption and the cost can be reduced by attaining a constitution where the liquid crystal display signal is directly produced and a CRT conversion unit is added with connection of a CRT required.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal display signal production circuit 14 produces directly the liquid crystal display signal, and a liquid crystal display drive circuit 16 drives a liquid crystal display 17 based on the produced display signal. A converter circuit 15 converts the liquid crystal display signal into a CRT signal with connection of a CRT required. The circuit 15 is separable from the main body of a portable computer and is usually kept separate from the computer when the computer is carried. In such a constitution, a CRT display signal production circuit can be omitted and a compact and light-weight electronic computer is obtained with reduction attained for both the power consumption and the cost.
