PURPOSE: To eliminate a flare phenomenon and to obtain a clear picture by adapting a unidirectional light transmission glass fiber for a glass substrate having a color array filter stuck on the upper face of a semiconductor solid-state image pickup element.
CONSTITUTION: A glass fiber plate 8 is used for a glass substrate having a color array filter stuck on the upper face of a solid-state image pickup element. A glass fiber plate having a transmittace of 60∼70% (wave length of 389 μm by a halogen light source; thickness of 5mmt) and a fiber size of 5.5 μm is used. Metal oxide and a light absorbing body 11 obtained by coating a resin are embeded between fibers 10. A vertical light beam A pasing through a glass fiber is reflected by an irregularity of metal wiring of the element upper face and returns to the glass fiber. However, the beam A hits the light absorbing body in the fiber interior, and is absorbed; therefore the total reflection will not occur. In terms of oblique light beam B, the light passing through a glass fiber is selected in accordance with the angle.
