PURPOSE: To enable to perform lateral writing in a transverse direction and a longitudinal direction and to draw figures, by providing two printing solenoids orthogonally to each other so that a plotter pen can be moved upward and downward, in a disk rotating type printing plate printer.

CONSTITUTION: In accordance with a printing or drawing command, pulse motors 1, 11 and 15 are rotated to select a printing position and a type position of a daisy wheel 16, and either of the solenoids 17, 18 provided orthogonally to each other is driven, whereby lateral writing printing in the transverse direction or lateral writing printing in the longitudinal direction is conducted. In addition, by operating a pen solenoid 20, a straight line or a quadric curve can be drawn on the basis of classification of solid line, dotted line, broken line, dot- dash line or the like. Further, by replacing the daisy wheel 16, the kind and the size of characters can be arbitrarily selected. Accordindly, a printer-plotter small in size and weight and capable of printing clearly can be obtained.
