PURPOSE: To obtain a recording body for printing, marking, etc. with superior wear resistance, weather resistance, water resistance and indelibility by forming a permeable layer having a porous structure on a plastic substrate and a heat developable diazo type recording layer in the permeable layer.
CONSTITUTION: A recording material forming the recording layer of a heat developable diazo type recording body is composed of a diazonium double salt compound or a diazonium sulfonate compound, a coupling agent, an acid stabilizer, an antioxidant and a water-insoluble developer. To the composition may be added a high molecular binder. The heat developer is the water insoluble salt of polybasic aliphatic acid or trichloroacetic acid and higher aliphatic amine represented by the general formula (where R1 is 12W18C alkyl, R2 is 12W18C alkyl, methyl or H, and R3 is methyl or H) or the water-insoluble salt of aliphatic dicarboxylic acid and amino-1,3,5-triazine. A liq. permeable layer having a porous structure is formed on a plastic substrate using resin contg. uniformly dispersed and bound fine particles of inorg. or org. pigment, and a coating soln. contg. said recording material is applied to the permeable layer and allowed to permeate into the layer.
