PURPOSE: To obtain a composition for a vertical oriented film having a long life, by consisting essentially of a reacted substance of a long-chain alkylamine and a multifunctional epoxy compound, and one kind among three compounds of an aromatic polyamic acid, soluble polyamide and polyacrylonitrile.
CONSTITUTION: A composition for a liquid crystal oriented film consisting essentially of a long-chain amine expressed by a formulaI(R denotes normal alkyl or halogenated alkyl of C10W24) and a reacted substance with a multifunctional epoxy compound expressed by formulas II, III which is soluble in a polarity solvent and one kind among aromatic polyamic acid being a precursor material of aromatic polyimide, soluble polyamide and polyacrylonitrile, is prepared. By using this composition for forming a liquid crystal vertical oriented film, a display having good contrast, etc. without a remarkable pattern of a transparent condutive film specially in a guest-host type two-color liquid crystal display element is obtained.
