PURPOSE: To reduce the number of circuit elements to be used and to simplify the constitution of an MIS dynamic shift register by constituting respective steps of the shift register with three MIS transistors (TRs) as its base.

CONSTITUTION: Respective steps of the MIS dynamic shift register are provided with three MIS TRs Q4WQ6, a capacitor C2, etc. and controlled by clock pulses 0, 1. The pulse 0 is changed from a high level power supply voltage Vcc to the threshold of a TRQ4 or the like and the pulse 1 is changed between the high and low level power supply voltages Vcc and VSS and their phases are different each other by 180°. The potential of nodes N3, N4 on prescribed steps is controlled, the potential of a node N3 is raised by the bootstrap effect of the TRQ5 and the potential of the node N4 is also increased. Consequently, the pre- step TRQ3 is turned on and a high level voltage is transferred from the node N2 to the node N4. Thus, the number of circuit elements to be used is reduced and the constitution of the MIS dynamic shift register is simplified.
