PURPOSE: To obtain an electronic camera device excellent in quick pickup performance and low power consumption by delaying the readout of an image signal from a solid-state image pickup element and storing an image signal charge in the solid-state image pickup element.
CONSTITUTION: An object image obtained via an image forming optical system 202 is formed on a photodetecting section 201A of an FT(frame transfer) CCD 201. The photodetecting section 201A and the storage section 201B of the FT- CCD201 are driven by drive pulses DP1, DP2 from a CCD drive readout delay circuit 206 and the signal charge stored in each picture element of the photo- detecting section 201A during the field period is transferred to the storage section 201B during the vertical blanking period. The driving pulses DP1, DP2 from a CCD driving readout delay circuit 205 are formed by taking a pulse from a synchronizing signal forming circuit 206 as a reference, but when a synchronizing detecting signal from a servo circuit 213 represents that a disc driving motor 211 does not reach the synchronizing state, no readout is performed by the delay operation.
