PURPOSE: To transmit efficiently many documents to various addresses by allowing a control means to index a related subscriber number from inputted addresses and transmitting by facsimile a data to the address based on the subscriber number.

CONSTITUTION: The name of an address such as B branch of an A company is inputted from a keyboard 110. A total control section 150 starts a file storage device 108 by an indexing section 166, retrieves a data relating to the arrangement of the terminal device of the B branch of the A company from a terminal allocating list 160 in the device 108, displays it to a display device 112 and also inquires the operator about to which terminal device the data is to be transmitted and about the transmission mode designation. For example, when the mode is designated as the mode D, the total control section 150 starts the file device 108 again, indexes the subscriber number of the terminal device on the 6th floor of the B branch from the subscriber number talbe 162, transfers it to a transmission control system 200 by using a transfer control secion 165, and the transmission control system 200 starts an NCU 300 based on this subscriber number and calls the terminal device through a line 302.
