Abstract:
An impact strip for a motor vehicle body, especially for a bumper, extends along a central region and from bent off end sections of the bumper, which are preferably drawn up round a built-on body. The impact strip has a reinforcing insert, which is provided with a casing part expanded on all sides, holding elements for fastening the impact strip being mounted locally on the reinforcing insert.
In order to produce an impact strip which can be manufactured with simple and cost effective tools, the reinforcing insert enclosed by the casing part consists of a plurality of parts, which are placed one against the other in an overlapping manner at connection points. In addition, a holding element which penetrates the parts is provided at each connection point, which holding element is used to fasten the impact strip.
