PURPOSE: To prevent damage of a cord by holding the cord, which feeds an illuminating electric lamp for exposure moved under an original platen of a copying machine and is enclosed with a coil spring, in a guide member.

CONSTITUTION: A mirror omitted in the figure and the illuminating electric lamp for exposure are mounted on a mirror unit 5 which is moved along a guide shaft 9 under the original platen omitted in the figure, and a cord 14 through which the electric lamp is fed is connected and fixed to an end part 5A of the mirror unit 5 by a connecting member 20. The cord 14 is inserted through a protective coil spring 17 and is protected, and the other end is fixed to a device body by a means 21, and the cord 14 has such length that the mirror unit 5 can be moved to the farthest end and the cord 14 is not sagged. A guide member 22 is provided near the fixing part 21, and the coil spring 17 is stored in this member 22 loosely, and the length of the guide member is so set that the cord 14 is not protruded when the mirror unit 5 is moved to both end parts. Thus, damage of the cord 14 is prevented.
