Abstract:
PURPOSE:To enable a speed changer or the like to be set in three positions with simple construction in small size, by actuating a cylinder, combined with major and minor pistons namely two pistons in total, with hydraulic pressure from both ends of said cylinder. CONSTITUTION:If the oil pressure in a hydraulic power source 4 is simultaneously applied to ports 1d, 1e by a selector valve 5, a piston 2 is pressed to the right end, while a piston 3 is pressed to a stopper 2f in the internal face of the piston 2 and set to the intermediate position in the axial direction by a difference between piston areas. If the oil pressure is applied only to the port 1d and the port 1e is opened to a reservoir 6 by the selector valve 5, the pistons 2, 3 are moved to the right end. While if the port 1d is opened to the reservoir 6 and the oil pressure is fed only to the port 1e by the selector valve 5, the pistons 2, 3 are transferred to the left end. Accordingly, a rod 3a, being able to be set to the intermediate position and the both right and left ends, that is, three positions, can operate a lever 7a of a speed changer 7 to be set to each speed change position. Thus, an actuator can be made short in its length in the axial direction while, only two places are required for the port introducing the hydraulic pressure.
