PURPOSE: To absorb irregularities in characteristic of a heatsensitive oscillator by making the oscillation frequency of the heatsensitive oscillator coincide with a reference signal frequency for measurement at a specified temperature with a frequency conversion circuit using a rate multiplier.
CONSTITUTION: Output from a crystal oscillator 1 via a division circuit 2 with a rate multiplier 2c of a frequency conversion circuit 12 in a temperature compensation circuit 6' is processed according to a set value of a rate memory 12a. Then, an output frequency signal of a heatsensitive oscillator 7 from the multiplier 12c is counted so that the output of the oscillator 7 will coincide with the reference signal for determining temperature information at a specified temperature corresponding to the crest of a temperature-frequency curve of the oscillator 1. Thus, irregularities in characteristic of the oscillator 7 are absorbed in substance to reduce the number of external adjustors thereby enabling the compensation for the temperature of an electronic timepiece at a high accuracy with a small construction.
