PURPOSE: To make it possible to carry out simple vacuum forming, by combining heating and softening with vacuum forming stepwise when two types of sheets whose preheating conditions are significantly different to allow them to be integrated by vacuum forming.
CONSTITUTION: The undersurface of a surface decorating sheet 1 that has been rendered breathable previously by perforating or the like is lined with a releasing film 2 that has approximately the same heat capacity as that of the sheet 1 and has no gas permeability. Then the sheet 1 is heated to be softened and vacuum is applied thereto using a vacuum forming mold 5 having a prescribed shape so that vacuum forming is effected. Then only the releasing film 2 is removed from the undersurface of the surface decorating sheet. At the same time a substrate sheet 6 is preheated, and the substrate sheet 6 is placed on the vacuum forming mold 5 on which the surface decorating sheet has been vacuum- formed and remains and then vacuum forming is effected.
