PURPOSE: To prepare a medical liquer having excellent color, flavor and taste, by diluting SHOCHU (low-class distilled spirits) with water to a specific alcohol concentration, adding the powder of snapping turtle or sea turtle to the SHOCHU, heating the mixture under pressure, filtering the product, and adding an additive to the extract thus obtained.

CONSTITUTION: 1l of SHOCHU diluted to an alcohol concentration of 16% is mixed with 50g of the powder of snapping turtle or sea turtle. The mixture is charged in an autoclave, heated at 80W150°C for about 20min, and filtered to obtain the extract of snapping turtle or sea turtle. An additive for adjusting the taste is mixed to or dissolved in the extract to obtain a medical liquer which is soft and pleasant to the palate. The additive is plum liquer, glucose or citric acid.
