CONSTITUTION: When the white peak level of a video signal is increased, a white peak control voltage to be impressed to the bases of transistors Q32 and Q36 is lowered, and a black level correcting signal (j) inverts the polarity and turns to a black level correcting signal (k). In this way, a contour correcting signal (1) and the black level correcting signal (k) are synthesized and outputted to the collector of a transistor Q21, and the contour correcting signal suppressing the correcting amount on the white level side is obtained. This signal is synthesized with a video signal (b) outputted from the collector of a transistor Q15, and a video signal 1 suppressing the white level signal to a prescribed control value can be outputted to an output terminal T4. Thus, the contour correcting amount on the white level side can be suppressed within a rated value, the contour of the video at the white peak can be prevented from being burred and the clear video can be displayed.
