Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain easily an anodic oxidized Al film with superior corrosion resistance, by treating an Al material having a formed anodic oxidized film in an aqueous soln. of a soluble alkali silicate having a specified molar ratio to seal the pores in the oxidized film. CONSTITUTION:An anodic oxidized film is formed on an Al or Al alloy material, and the material is treated in an aqueous soln. of a water soluble alkali silicate such as sodium silicate having 2.7-3.5 molar ratio to seal the pores in the oxidized film. The concn. of the alkali silicate in the soln. is 0.4-3%. The preferred treatment temp. is >=50 deg.C, and the treatment is carried out by a conventional method. An anodic oxidized film with superior alkali resistance is obtd. easily, uniformly and stably.
