Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain electrocast shells having good distributions of desired thicknesses easily in a short time by inserting an electrode in an insulating cover, covering the circumferential wall of the electrode, and moving one or both of the electrode and the cover vertically according to the shapes of an electrocasting mold or working conditions. CONSTITUTION:In the case of electrodepositing an electrocast shell in the recess of an electrocasting mold 33, the circumferential wall part at the leading end of a bar-like electrode 3 is covered with an insulating cover 12 to prevent the projection of the leading end of the electrode from the cover. Electricity is conducted to the electrode in said state. The electrode is moved with a device 35 to scan near the bottom, in the recess of the electrocasting mold, particularly, the angle and corner parts of the bottom, and while the scanning speed is controlled, electrocasting is executed. When the electrocasting is completed to a certain extent, the cover 12 is pulled up gradually and the electrocasting is progressed upward in the recess. The rate of the pulling up of the cover is detected with an encoder 17 from a position detector 16, and is fed back to the device 35. When the electrocasting in the recess of the mold 33 is completed, the device 35 runs a geared motor 4 to pull the electrode 3 up from the recess. The mold 33 moved to the next place faces the electrode 3 and the electrocasting is started.
