Title:
WATER SUCKING-UP MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS60101436
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent microorganism such as fungus and the like from growing by a structure wherein paper-like water sucking-up material is manufactured from bar-shaped water absorbing synthetic fibers such as porous acrylic fibers or the like, band-shaped synthetic fibers such as polyethylene pulp and synthetic fibers to bond said synthetic fibers.

CONSTITUTION: Paper 4 is made of materials, all of which are synthetic resins or concretely made of bar-shaped fibers 1 with water absorption property such as porous acrylic fibers, nylon fibers having an L-shape in cross section or the like, band-shaped synthetic fibers 2 such as polyethylene pulp and hot-melt synthetic fibers 3 serving as a binding material that bonds both the fibers 1 and 2 so as to hold a form of paper. In general, synthetic macromolecule has greater resistance against microorganism and has fewer nutrient as compared with natural macromolecule. Consequently, the growth of microorganism can be prevented by employing all synthetic fibers as material. In addition, the water absorption property of the bar-shaped water absorbing fibers 1 causes to improve the wettability to water, resulting in also improving the water sucking-up property of the titled material.
