PURPOSE: To enable good fixing with a heating roller without causing offset phenomenon, by using a specified polyester resin and a specified styrene-acrylic resin as the binder of a toner.
CONSTITUTION: A developer consists of carriers composed of iron powder particles coated with a resin, and a toner comprising a polyester resin containing a 5W25wt% component insoluble in chloroform and a styrene-acrylic copolymer resin containing ≥10wt% polymer component of mol.wt. as high as ≥100,000 as a binder. For example, said polyester resin having a 131°C ring and ball softening point, 70pts.wt., said styrene-acrylic resin having a 130°C ring-and-ball softening point, 30pts.wt., and carbon black, 10pts.wt., are mixed and a toner is prepared in an ordinary manner. A developer is obtained by mixing this toner with said resin-coated iron powder carriers so as to adjust toner concn. to 5wt%.
