PURPOSE: To produce a thin strip of a uniform thickness easily by making the spacings between the plural holes of a nozzle which ejects a molten material onto a rotary cooling surface narrower in the peripheral parts than in the parts near the center.
CONSTITUTION: In a device of producing a thin broad strip 5 by providing the nozzle port 4 of a heat resistant nozzle vessel 2 wound with a high frequency coil 1 in proximity to the cooling surface of a cooling body 3 under high speed rotation, and ejecting the molten material 6 in the vessel 2 through the port 4, the spacings between the plural holes provided to the port 4 are so set that the spacings ln between the holes positioned near the center are 0.4≤ln-1/ln<1 as compared to the spacings ln-1 from the holes adjacent to said holes and positioned near the peripheries, whereby a rectangular shape of a uniform thickness is provided to the sectional shape in the thickness of the resultant thin strip 5.
