Title:
TORCH FOR ARC WELDING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5844975
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make efficient TIG-MIG welding possible by constituting a titled torch in such a way that a consumable electrode supplied through a conduit cable and the through-hole of a conduit fitting is held in proximity to a nonconsumable electrode held by a stationary fitting.

CONSTITUTION: A wire 5 is conducted to a power feed tip 6 by passing through a conduit cable 8 and the through-hole of a conduit fitting 7 and is let off while the wire is kept supplied with electricity. On the other hand, a nonconsumable electrode 9 is fixed and held to a nonconsumable electrode holding fitting 10 fixed to the fitting 7 adjacently to a power feed tip 6 by means of an electrode fixing screw 11 roughly at the same potential in such a way that the preceding end is located in proximity to the wire 5. Therefore, an MIG arc and a TIG arc superpose perfectly on materials 4 to be welded. It is possible to provide the welding torch having better efficiency by forming the same into the construction wherein either one of the tip 6 and the electrode 9 is fixed and the other is rotated or by containing both mentioned above in a shielding gas nozzle.
