Title:
FORMATION OF HIGH CONTRAST SILVER IMAGE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5837636
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a high contrast silver image with high sensitivity by adding a nondiffusible compound selected from specified nondiffusible quat. salts, peroxy acids, specified org. oxidants and inorg. oxides other than metallic complex cations to a hydrophilic colloidal layer.

CONSTITUTION: To a black and white photographic sensitive silver halide material is added ≥1 kind of nondiffusible compound with oxidizing power to a hydroquinone developing agent selected from quat. salts each having a nondiffusible cationic moiety contg. quat. N such as 2-(benzothiazol-2-yl)-3-phenyl-5- dodecyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide, peroxy acids such as perstearic acid, org. oxidants such as pyridine-N-oxide polymer and inorg. oxidizing agents such as tetraphenylphosphonium bichromate other than metallic complex cations. The resulting sensitive material gives a high contrast image suitable for forming a linear image or a dot image by development after exposure.
