Title:
ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04122948
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the electrophotographic sensitive body which is excellent particularly at the time of positive charge by providing a photoconductive layer essentially consisting of a pyrilium dye, an electrically insulating polymer and a specific compd. on a conductive base body.

CONSTITUTION: A photosensitive layer 15 consisting of an eutectic complex is provided on the conductive base body 11. The eutectic complex is formed of the pyrilium dye and the electrically insulating polymer. For example, 4-(4- dimethylaminophenyl)-2.6-diphenyltiapyrilium perchlorate is used for the pyrilium dye. A polymer having an alkyl dendiarylene part in the main chain, for example, poly(3,3'-ethylenedioxyphenylene thiocarbonate), is used as the electrically insulating polymer. The excellent electrophotographic sensitivity is obtd. at the time of the positive charge if the photoconductive layer 15 having 5 to 50μm film thickness is formed by using the compd. expressed by formula, dissolving the compd. into a suitable solvent, for example, tetrahydrofuran, applying this soln. on the base body 11 and drying the coating at 50 to 130°C. The sharp electrophotographic images are, therefore, formed.
