Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce transmission loss as in the case of belt drive, unnecessitate to provide an alarm device and a safety device for the case of cutting of a belt and obtain a compact device, by a method wherein a flywheel is provided with a radial flow fan to cool a radiator. CONSTITUTION:A multi-vane fan 9 is fitted to the inside surface of a flywheel 2 provided at an end part of a crankshaft 1, a casing 13 provided with an inflow pipe 10 for introducing air A and a diffuser part 11 for leading out air A is provided at the outside peripheries of the fan 9 and the flywheel 2, and the radiator 6 is provided on the upstream side of the inflow pipe 10. In said horizontal-type internal-combustion engine, since the cooling fan is incorporated in the flywheel, transmission loss such as that in the case of belt drive is reduced, and it is unnecessitated to specially provide an alarm device and an safety device for the case of cutting of the belt.
