PURPOSE: To perform an efficient processing for multikey inputs, by classifying input keys into normal keys and control keys and storing temporarily the key code, which is generated in an input device, in a buffer and setting the key lock for control keys.
CONSTITUTION: An IOX12 as an input/output device is connected to a keyboard 11, and an application program 16 is controlled by this IOX12. This IOX12 is provided with a timer task 13 connected to a KBARSP response part 14 and a KBAIOX call part 15. Input keys of the keyboard 11 are classified into letter keys (normal keys) and control keys (function keys), and the key code from the keyboard 11 is stored temporarily in the buffer of the response part 14. In case of a control key code, the key input is disabled by the task 13, and temporarily stored codes are read out to the call part 15 collectively, and the key lock is reset, and thus, the processing for multikey inputs is executed efficiently.
