PURPOSE: To perform quantitative input simply by attaining step-like input consisting of two steps by the turning quantity of a rod and inputting 4 directions in accordance with the turning directon of the rod.

CONSTITUTION: A circular board 1 is fitted to the rod 1 so as to be freely moved front and back and right and left around a shaft 3. Switches 4 are arragned on the periphery of the board 2 so that a swithc on a direction to which the rod 1 is moved is pressed. The swithces 4 are connected to a pulse generating circuit 7, terminals 8 are connected to joy stick direction terminals of a computer and a terminal 9 is connected to a common terminal. When the rod 1 is turned to a direction to be inputted, two metallic plates inside the switch arranged in the direction are connected and a pulse outputted from the circuit 7 is inputted to the terminal of the computer which is arranged in the direction to be inputted. When the rod 1 is turned moreover, a metallic plate on the outside of the switch 4 is also connected and the switch 4 is completely turned on.
