PURPOSE: To obtain the titled prepreg having abrasion resistance and durable surface lubricity, by kneading a synthetic resin and lubricant particles, spreading the mixture, putting a reinforcing fibrous material on it, and rolling the material, so that the synthetic resin is impregnatd into the reinforcing fibers.
CONSTITUTION: A synthetic resin (e.g. thermosetting resins such as an epoxy resin, a polyester resin, etc.) and aggregate particles (e.g. particles of tetrafluoroethylene, graphite, MoS2) are well kneaded, and the mixture is spread into a film. A reinforcing fibrous material (e.g. carbon fiber, glass fiber, etc.) is brought in firm contact with it, and is heated and pressed by a conventional method so that the resin is impregnated between the fibers to produce a prepreg. The resin and the aggregate particles are well stuck, the lubricant particles remain in a large quantity on one surface due to the filtering action of the densely arranged reinforcing fibrous material, and since only the resin passes through the fibers, one surface of the obtained prepreg has no lubricant particle. The obtained prepreg is suitably used as an outermost layer material to be combined with a metal material, or a fiber reinforced resin composite material wherein sliding lubricity and abrasion resistance are required such as a filtering plate.
