Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain a compact apparatus by selectively controlling the tilting operation or telesco operation of a steering wheel through a power selecting means by a single motor. CONSTITUTION:In tilt operation, a locking lever 33 is turned to the B position through a sector gear 29b engaged with a worm gear 27b and a rod 43b by a switching motor 26, and the fastening between a tilting plate 32 and a bracket 15 for telesco by a nut is loosened. Then, a driving motor 25 is driven, and the above-described bracket 15 is provided with a driving force in the longitudinal and sliding direction through the sector gear 29a and the rod 43a. Since the locking hook 40 of the tilting plate 32 is engaged with the ratchet teeth 15c at this time, tilting operation is carried out around a bolt 19. While, when the locking lever 33 is turned to the C position, the locking hook 40 is swung to a nonengagement position, and telesco operation is permitted.
