PURPOSE: To attain the constitution of plural logical networks different in the transmission speed and procedure, regardless of physically a single network comstitution thereof by performing data transmission/receiving in time division compensating the difference in the transfer speed of the network.
CONSTITUTION: An interface ECI38 buffers once a data received from a coupler 39 in case of data transmission, and its data is inserted in a high speed to the information field of a frame designated by a controller ECC36 in time division taking the basic transfer speed of the low and high speed network into account. In case of data receiving, the ECI38 receives the content of the field from a shift register SR32, buffers it once and transmits the data to a station STN11 via the coupler 39 so as to supply data without intermission and to constitute the other network on the network. Thus, the data transmission between devices DV22 connected to an expanded station ESN21 and the data transmission between the DV12 connected to the STN11 are attained via a common transmission line.
