Title:
SUPERCONDUCTIVE MAGNETIC BEARING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04119221
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remarkably improve rigidity of bearing force by arranging in series one or more magnetic bearing with a structure which surrounds a permanent magnet of donut type disc having N and S poles in the axial direction, into which center a non-magnetic rotary shaft is inserted, by means of high temperature superconductor so that the magnet may turn freely.

CONSTITUTION: A superconductive magnetic bearing A is composed of a non- magnetic rotary shaft 1, donut-like permanent magnet 2 having the shaft inserted therein and a high temperature superconductive member 3 surrounding the shaft 1. This conductive member 3 is composed of split mating superconductive members 6, 7 with recesses 5 housing half parts of the magnet 2 and bearing holes 4 into which the shaft 1 is inserted. With this constitution, and by the use of reaction between the superconductive member and the magnet due to Meissner effect as well as pining force, rigidity is increased.
