Abstract:
PURPOSE:To realize the loading/unloading of a head and to reduce the deterioration of lifetime of a disk device due to the wear of a disk sheet in a non- read/write mode, by adding a simple head loading/unloading mechanism using a cam. CONSTITUTION:A carriage 1 is shifted by a stepper motor to a desired track on a floppy disk D with a guide bar used as a guide. A press-contact arm 2 containing a press-contact pad 7 is pressed to the surface of a head 3 by a spring 8, and a floppy disk sheet D is pressed between the head 3 and the pad 7. In this case, a pin attached to the side of the arm 2 moves on a guide cam 6 with no contact. Then the pad 7 is loaded by the spring 8 to enable read/write since no contact is secured between the pin at the side of the arm 2 and the cam 6. Furthermore the carriage 1 is shifted toward F, and an arm A is lifted by a slanting part 6-2 and then put on a horizontal part 6-3. At this position the pad 7 is unloaded.
