Abstract:
PURPOSE:To completely restrain foam from increasing in a bearing box by connecting an oil discharging passage into said bearing box through a defoaming oil tank and a cooler made of a cooling pipe and providing an air bleeding pipe in a high position of said cooling pipe. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil which has lubricated and cooled a bearing 2 while generating foam in a pump chamber 4 between the bearing 2 and a shaft 1, flows through an oil discharging passage 6, which runs through the bearing 2 and a bearing box 3, is defoamed in a defoaming oil tank 8, and is returned from the bottom part of the defoaming tank 8, through a cooler 9, again into the bottom part of the bearing box 3. The lubricating oil, which has generated foam due to the high temperature of the bearing 2, is discharged into the defoaming tank 8 from the inlet 10 of the tank 8, and is temporarily stored there. The foam part of a stored oil 8a containing the foam, gathers on the upper part, while the oil part gathers on the lower part, of the tank 8. And, the foam part is separated into a liquid and a gaseous body, which is discharged outward through an air bleeding pipe 11.
