Abstract:
PURPOSE:To accomplish quiet and smooth speed change operation even if a dragging phenomenon due to viscosity of oil is caused in a wet multiple disc clutch by providing a low gear with a synchronizer mechanism. CONSTITUTION:When a sleeve 23 is moved to the right and pressed by a fixed load, a ring 24 and a low gear 22 are braked by frictional resistance generated between taper surfaces 22a, 22b thereof, and at the same time, the movement of the sleeve 23 in the right direction is balked by engagement of a step portion 23b with an inclined surface 24c of the ring 24. Finally, the sleeve 23 and the ring 24 are synchronized with the low gear 22, so that the relative rotating speed N is naught. When the sleeve 23 is further moved to the right, synchronizing torque of a synchronizer ring 24 is out, so that the low gear 22 is again started rotating by dragging torque, and the sleeves 23 are smoothly engaged with each other. If a clutch is smoothly connected, speed change operation can be accomplished quietly and smoothly even if there is a dragging phenomenon due to viscosity of oil.
