Abstract:

PURPOSE:To prevent a reverse conductive type GTO from erroneously firing by applying a reverse bias voltage between the gate and the cathode of the GTO when the junction of the diode of the GTO is recovered. CONSTITUTION:An inverter is formed of reverse conductive type GTOs 21-26 coupled in a 3-phase bridge to convert a DC power supplied from a power soure 27 into the desired AC power, and to supply it to a load 28. An OFF current corresponding to reverse bias is continuously flowed between the gate and the cathode of the GTO until the junction of the diode of the GTO is recovered, thereby blocking a displacing current to prevent the GTO from erroneously firing.
