PURPOSE: To obtain a dial of glass having depth and high grade feel for timepieces by using all-color sensitive glass for the dial.

CONSTITUTION: A mask which irradiates light only on the time graduations 2 is provided on a dial 1 consisting of all-color sensitive glass, and UV rays are irradiated to heat-treat the glass, whereby the time graduations are formed. The top surface of the dial formed with the time graduations is a mirror or satin surface and the bottom surface may be a satin surface. It is also possible to color the bottom surface by painting or deposit thin metallic films. Further, it is possible to create patterns by providing grids 12 of thin metallic films on a part or the whole of the dial.
