PURPOSE: To reduce the influence exerted by wind on object to be measured, by a method wherein a stand for the object to be measured, which is installed such that a surface thereof is exposed to the inside of a wind tunnel so as to form a part of the inner surface of the wind tunnel, is miniaturized as much as possible.
CONSTITUTION: Tables 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d for an object to be measured are moved according to a wheel distance of an automobile 9 being an object to be measured to couple it to a measuring part 4, a cover 7 is placed to bring it into a use condition, and the wheels of the automobile 9 are secured by the use of wedges. In this device, a part related to the measuring part 4 of a wind tunnel balance exposed to the inside of the wind tunnel is the tables 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d for an object to be measured which have a small area being somewhat sufficient space to cover the wheels of the automobile 9, and thereby, in the measurement, it is entirely prevented from being influenced by wind to which a part except the automobile 9 is exposed. This sharply reduces a measurement error. Additionally, this enables a device to easily correspond to a change in wheel distance due to a difference in the type of automobile.
