PURPOSE: To eliminate the need of stock space and to align and transport articles at high speed and with high reliability in a transport apparatus for a flat board such as a plate piece by providing the second conveyer comprising an inner conveyer and an outer bar conveyer which are different in speed.

CONSTITUTION: As an inner conveyer 6 and a bar conveyer 7 are different in speed, a transported article fed to the second conveyer 3 and placed on a rotary rod 8 of the bar conveyer 7 is dropped at one end thereof on the inner conveyer 6, and accomodated between the rotary rods 8 due to a difference in speed between both conveyers 6, 7. Subsequently, the article is slided along the inner conveyer 6 and aligned at fixed intervals to be transported and delivered between forks of the third conveyer. In this arrangement, the need of stock space is eliminated, and an article is transported at high speed and with high accuracy.
